Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, has successfully retained his parliamentary seat for Techiman South following a re-collation of election results mandated by the court at the Electoral Commission’s (EC) regional office in Accra.

This re-collation became necessary after disputes arose over the initial results of the Techiman South constituency during the 2024 elections. Allegations of irregularities prompted the court to order the reevaluation of the results to ensure fairness and transparency.

The re-collation, carried out with tight security, confirmed Korsah’s victory with 46,663 votes, surpassing his closest rival, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, who earned 43,429 votes.

This exercise is part of the EC’s broader initiative to resolve disputes in constituencies where election results were contested. The confirmation of Korsah’s win ends weeks of uncertainty, allowing the Techiman South constituency to move forward.

The smooth conclusion of the re-collation has been praised as a vital demonstration of judicial oversight and the commitment to electoral transparency, ensuring the integrity of the process. Korsah’s victory strengthens the NPP’s parliamentary representation in the 2024 elections.
