An overnight Israeli airstrike on the Khan Yunis refugee camp in southern Gaza has killed at least 11 people, including three infants, according to Gaza’s civil defence agency.

The attack, which struck the Al-Bayram family home around 3 a.m. local time, claimed the lives of a month-old baby and two one-year-old children, all from the same extended family, civil defence spokesperson Mahmud Bassal confirmed.

The Israeli military has not yet responded to requests for comment on the incident.

This latest strike comes amid the resumed Israeli offensive in Gaza, which restarted on March 18 following a two-month ceasefire in the ongoing conflict with Hamas that began after the militant group’s October 7, 2023 attack on Israel.

On Friday, at least 42 more fatalities were reported from Israeli strikes across Gaza, where a full blockade has been in effect since March 2.

Israel has halted aid deliveries, accusing Hamas of diverting supplies and asserting the blockade aims to pressure the group into releasing hostages.

The United Nations has repeatedly urged Israel to lift the restrictions, warning that Gaza faces a deepening humanitarian crisis, with famine looming.
