A mobile money vendor was shot and killed during a robbery in Aflao, Volta Region, on the evening of Monday, April 28.

The victim, Christopher Ahordo, also known as Colombo, was attacked around 6:15 p.m. while closing his shop later than usual.

Two masked robbers, armed with pump-action shotguns, approached Colombo, stole a bag believed to contain cash, and shot him in the chest as they fled.

Witnesses were unable to assist due to the robbers firing shots as they escaped into nearby bushes.

Colombo’s body was later retrieved by locals and transported to the Ketu South Municipal Hospital mortuary.

The local police are investigating the crime. Mobile money robberies have become increasingly common in Ghana, with many fatal incidents reported this year, particularly in the Ashanti region.
