57 Radio Stations Face Suspension Over Violations – Sam George Warns
Government enforces broadcasting regulations as Sam George urges affected stations to rectify infractions or risk going off-air.

Minister for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has warned that 57 radio stations risk having their frequencies suspended due to violations of broadcasting regulations.
He clarified that the suspension is not meant as a punishment but as an opportunity for the affected stations to rectify their infractions and comply with licensing requirements.
Addressing journalists on Monday, March 24, the Minister disclosed that out of six stations recently suspended, three have successfully met the necessary conditions for reinstatement.
“The six are part of a broader group of about 63 stations facing suspension, not revocation. Media houses cannot flout regulations and claim press freedom exempts them from compliance,” he stated.
He assured that affected stations have the chance to correct their anomalies, adding, “Of the six initially suspended, three have submitted the required documentation, and I will be authorizing the restoration of their frequencies.”
