Officials from the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) have surrounded the residence of Rev. John Ntim Fordjour in an apparent attempt to arrest him, as revealed by the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong.
In a social media post on Tuesday, April 9, Kodua Frimpong criticized the incident, calling it part of a troubling trend of political harassment, urging the hashtag #SayNoToStateIntimidation.
The tension follows days of political controversy after the Assin South MP raised allegations about two suspicious flights landing at Kotoka International Airport, fueling suspicions of drug trafficking and money laundering.
While government officials have dismissed these claims, the latest development has sparked concerns that opposition figures speaking out on sensitive national issues may face intimidation.
The NIB has not yet provided any official statement regarding the alleged arrest attempt.
