Chelsea Fans Urge Premier League to Investigate Boehly’s Ticket Resale Link
Supporters Urge Premier League to Investigate Boehly Conflict of Interest

- CST has formally requested the Premier League to investigate co-owner Todd Boehly's connection
- Evidence against Vivid Seats has also been submitted to the UK government's Department for Culture
- The CST expressed the anger of many members over Boehly's association with Vivid Seats
The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust (CST) has formally requested the Premier League to investigate co-owner Todd Boehly’s connection to ticket reselling website Vivid Seats, citing a “clear conflict of interest” and “breach of trust.”
In an open letter to Premier League chief executive Richard Masters, the CST reiterated their complaint that Boehly’s role as a director and investor in Vivid Seats, while also holding a 13% stake in Chelsea, is problematic.
The CST highlighted that Vivid Seats is listed by the Premier League as an ‘unauthorised ticketing website’ where overseas fans can purchase tickets unofficially for prices ranging from £90 to £20,000. Evidence against Vivid Seats has also been submitted to the UK government’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).
Chelsea’s official policy states that ticket touting is illegal, and unofficially purchased tickets will be invalid, leading to denied stadium entry. While Vivid Seats can legally operate overseas, the website appears to allow UK-based users to buy tickets despite a disclaimer.
The CST expressed the anger of many members over Boehly’s association with Vivid Seats, arguing that it undermines efforts to combat ticket touting by Chelsea, the Premier League, and the police. They stated that Boehly has not responded to their requests to address these concerns, and numerous tickets remain available on Vivid Seats.
The Football Supporters’ Association has backed the CST’s call for an investigation. Chelsea recently informed season ticket holders of measures being taken against ticket touting, though without specifically naming Vivid Seats or other resale platforms.
BBC Sport has reached out to Chelsea, Boehly’s representatives, and Vivid Seats for comment.
