Finance Minister-designate, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has reaffirmed the Mahama government’s unwavering commitment to sustaining and improving the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, which was initially introduced by the Akufo-Addo administration.

This comes after President Mahama’s promise during his 2024 campaign to build on the policy rather than dismantle it.

Speaking at his parliamentary vetting on January 13, Dr. Forson emphasized the government’s intention to protect and strengthen the policy for the benefit of all students.

He reiterated, “My party’s position on Free SHS is clear. President Mahama has made it clear that the policy is here to stay. You have assurance from the highest level of government.
