A shooting incident targeting the vehicle of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Awutu Senya East has left one person dead and two others injured.

The tragedy, which unfolded near the candidate’s residence, sparked panic within the community, briefly disrupting electoral activities.

The altercation reportedly began as a heated argument among party supporters before escalating into gunfire. Two individuals were injured and rushed to a nearby medical facility for emergency care.

In an unrelated event earlier at Odupongpehe Zion Park, a separate shooting tied to a chieftaincy dispute left one bystander injured.

The Ghana Police Service has arrested four suspects linked to the political shooting, recovering an AK-47 rifle and 69 rounds of ammunition. Investigations are ongoing to ensure justice and maintain order during the elections.
