President John Dramani Mahama has once again emphasized his zero-tolerance approach toward any breaches of the newly introduced Code of Conduct for public officials, warning appointees of swift and severe consequences for any violations.

Unveiled on May 6, the Code of Conduct is part of the government’s comprehensive strategy to foster professionalism, civility, and ethical standards within public service.

In a national address on May 7, President Mahama made it clear that his administration would take decisive action against appointees who fail to uphold these ethical guidelines.

“I have made it abundantly clear to my appointees that any violation of these standards will be met with strong and immediate disciplinary measures,” he stated firmly.

The Code sets forth key ethical rules, including a prohibition on using public funds to purchase hampers during festive seasons and limits on receiving gifts exceeding GHC 20,000.00. These measures aim to prevent wasteful spending, promote integrity, and strengthen public confidence in the government.
