Tensions flared in Binduri District, Upper East Region, on Thursday, April 24, 2025, after the dramatic rejection of the President’s nominee for District Chief Executive (DCE).

Samuel Azure, the newly elected Presiding Member and Assemblyman for the Kaadi Electoral Area, was allegedly assaulted shortly after a vote of no confidence resulted in the rejection of the nominee.

Authorities have yet to release any official statements, and the identities of the attackers remain unknown.

The Binduri District Assembly has also not made any announcements regarding the next steps following the failed DCE confirmation.
