Global music icon Rihanna has officially revealed she is expecting her third child with partner A$AP Rocky, making the announcement in signature fashion at the 2025 Met Gala in New York City.
The 37-year-old singer and entrepreneur appeared radiant as she cradled her baby bump on the event’s uniquely styled navy-and-daffodil carpet. Dressed in a dramatic wide-brimmed hat and an elegant floor-length tailored ensemble, Rihanna made a striking entrance as the final celebrity to arrive at fashion’s most prestigious night.
Rihanna, born Robyn Fenty, and her partner, rapper Rakim Mayers—known professionally as A$AP Rocky—are already parents to two sons: RZA, born in May 2022, and Riot, born in August 2023.
Rocky, who served as a co-chair for this year’s Met Gala, confirmed the pregnancy on the red carpet, warmly thanking reporters and fans.
“It’s time to show the people what we’ve been cooking up,” he joked. “I’m glad everybody’s happy for us because we’re definitely happy.”
This year’s Met Gala theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” marked a historic return to menswear-focused fashion for the first time since 2003. As always, celebrities turned out in extravagant ensembles to celebrate the opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute exhibit.
Rihanna is known for her bold and public pregnancy announcements. She famously revealed her first pregnancy during a Harlem photoshoot in 2022 and later surprised the world by unveiling her second during the Super Bowl halftime show in 2023.
She now joins the list of high-profile women, including Serena Williams and Karlie Kloss, who have shared pregnancy news at the Met Gala in recent years.
