- The 26th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 10, 2025
Organizers of the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) have announced a new, stricter invitation policy for this year’s red carpet event, aiming to elevate the overall experience and address long-standing criticisms regarding order and quality.
Charterhouse, the event’s production house, stated that the revamped policy will ensure that only invited guests will be granted access to the prestigious red carpet. This move is intended to streamline the segment and feature recognized personalities and key industry stakeholders.
The organizers further detailed that the 2025 TGMA will feature two distinct red carpet sessions. The first will be a general session for media interviews and photo opportunities, while the second, more exclusive session, will be dedicated to television coverage and in-depth fashion interviews. Access to this televised red carpet will be strictly by invitation only.
For several years, viewers and critics have voiced concerns about the presence of less prominent individuals and what some described as “random” attendees on the red carpet. This often resulted in extended airtime and varied opinions on the fashion displayed.
The new policy is a direct response to these concerns, with organizers hoping to introduce better structure and significantly raise the standard of the red carpet experience.
The 26th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.
Since its inception in 2000, the TGMA has grown into a premier event on Ghana’s entertainment calendar, celebrating outstanding achievements within the country’s vibrant music industry, honoring musicians, producers, and other pivotal figures in the music scene. This year’s ceremony is produced by Charterhouse, with support from Telecel, Guinness, British Council, Close-Up, KPMG, and TV3.
