President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has raised concerns that the continuation of the Agenda 111 hospital projects could be jeopardized if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regains power, citing their previous criticisms of the initiative.
He cautioned that essential projects initiated by his administration, including Agenda 111, may be abandoned if Ghanaians choose former President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC in the upcoming elections.
The president reaffirmed his commitment to completing several Agenda 111 projects before the end of his term.
Speaking to professional groups in the Ashanti Region on November 25, President Akufo-Addo urged voters to reflect on the progress achieved under his leadership and the potential setbacks that could arise from a leadership change.
“By January 7, 2025, I will have inaugurated several of these projects. The Sewua Infectious Disease Centre is completed, and the Komfo Anokye Maternity and Children’s Hospital is 68% finished. Both the Asante Akyim and Kumawu District Hospitals are complete.
“The way some individuals discuss these projects should concern the people of Ashanti. Think carefully as you head to the polls on December 7. I am convinced that if certain people take office, they will halt many of these projects. Agenda 111 is not a priority for them; unfinished projects will remain so. We’ve seen this before—let’s not make that mistake again.”
