A confrontation in Nyinahini, located in the Ashanti Region, turned deadly when a dispute between military personnel and local youth escalated into violence.
The clash reportedly began after soldiers challenged some young men for wearing camouflage clothing.
According to eyewitness Rev. Francis Nyamekye, the situation quickly spiraled, resulting in the military allegedly opening fire on the crowd.
One person was killed on the spot, while five others sustained various injuries. The wounded were initially taken to the Nyinahini Government Hospital, with one in critical condition later transferred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
The incident has left the community gripped with fear. Authorities have yet to issue an official statement, though unverified reports hint that the victims might have been involved in illegal activity.
