President John Dramani Mahama has issued a strict warning to government appointees who have yet to declare their assets, stating they will be fired if they fail to meet the final deadline of May 7, 2025.

This directive is part of Mahama’s broader push for increased transparency and accountability within his administration. The President’s warning follows an earlier March 31 deadline that many appointees missed.

At the launch of the Code of Conduct for government appointees in Accra on May 5, Mahama made it clear that no one would be excused from the consequences of non-compliance.

“If by the close of business on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, you have not declared your assets, consider yourself automatically dismissed,” Mahama declared, stressing that protecting the integrity of his government is non-negotiable.

In addition to the dismissal threat, Mahama introduced financial penalties for those who missed the March deadline.

Defaulters will be required to forfeit three months’ salary and make a mandatory one-month donation to the MahamaCares Fund.
