Patrick Yaw Boamah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, has emerged victorious in the Okaikwei Central parliamentary contest after a dramatic re-collation exercise at the Greater Accra Regional Office of the Electoral Commission.

The recount reversed an earlier declaration that favored National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate Baba Sadiq, with Boamah securing 21,099 votes against Sadiq’s 19,368.

In his victory speech, Boamah thanked his constituents for their unwavering support and trust, pledging to continue championing their development needs in Parliament. “Elections are a cornerstone of democracy,” he said, acknowledging the efforts of his opponent and celebrating his party’s success.
