NDC Will Abandon Agenda 111 – Dr. Nsiah Asare
- Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare argues that the NDC, under Mahama, will not fulfill promises
- He cites the uncompleted EUROGET projects as evidence
- Dr. Nsiah Asare reports that about 100 of the Agenda 111 hospitals are operational
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential candidate, John Mahama, has vowed to complete the Agenda 111 hospital initiative if he regains power.
However, Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare, Presidential Advisor on Health, has dismissed these claims, asserting that the NDC will not follow through with the project.
Dr. Nsiah Asare in an interview pointed out that the uncompleted EUROGET projects from former President John Kufuor are a direct consequence of financial issues left by Mahama and the NDC.
He criticized the NDC’s record from 2013 to 2017, highlighting that no nurses were hired during that time after the cancellation of the Nursing Trainees Allowance.
Dr. Nsiah Asare emphasized that around 100 of the Agenda 111 hospitals are now operational, with the remaining facilities progressing steadily.
He noted that these hospitals are equipped with various departments, including accident centers, pediatric wards, and ENT services.
He believes the Agenda 111 project will help alleviate pressure on the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
