A chilling incident occurred in the Western North Region when a man, believed to be in his late 40s, allegedly murdered his stepdaughter in his farm.
The victim, Mary Josontey, was sent by her mother to deliver food to her father at his farm in Sefwi Kankakrom.
When she failed to return home, her father claimed he had given her additional tasks. Suspecting something amiss, the victim’s sibling went to the farm and discovered her lifeless body covered in leaves.
The accused father, identified as Kwame Dagati, was immediately accused of the crime. In a desperate attempt to end his own life, he consumed a poisonous substance.
However, his suicide attempt failed, and he was arrested by the police.
The deceased’s body was taken to the Essam government hospital mortuary, while the accused father is receiving medical treatment.
