Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has expressed profound disappointment following the Black Stars’ failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Ghana, finishing at the bottom of Group F with just three points from six matches, faces a historic low in its football journey.
Okraku, in a heartfelt Facebook post, reflected on the sharp contrast between the team’s World Cup qualification in 2022 and their current struggles.
“From the highest heights of world football on March 29, 2022, to the lowest ebb of AFCON qualifying matches. My heart bleeds,” he lamented.
Acknowledging the frustration of fans and stakeholders, Okraku stressed the need for cool heads, honesty, and collective effort to address the team’s challenges.
“This is not what we want or bargained for. The road to recovery is bumpy, but Ghana will rise again,” he assured.
The GFA leadership has called for unity and introspection as the Executive Council prepares to meet on Wednesday to chart a way forward.
