Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, Member of Parliament for Assin South and Ranking Member on the Defence and Interior Committee, has expressed deep appreciation to former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his visit to his home following what Fordjour called a politically-driven act of intimidation.
On April 9, National Investigations Bureau (NIB) operatives attempted to arrest the MP at his residence, but the move was thwarted by members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a post on X, Fordjour accused the ruling NDC government of trying to stifle MPs from performing their constitutional oversight duties. He thanked Dr. Bawumia for standing by him during the ordeal: “Thank you very much HE Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia @MBawumia for the visit to my residence this evening following the politically-motivated lawless act of harassment in the attempt of the NDC government to gag MPs from exercising their legitimate oversight,” he stated.
