Richard Ahiagbah, the Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has strongly criticized President John Dramani Mahama’s first 120 days in office, calling them a setback for Ghana.

In an interview, Ahiagbah questioned the effectiveness of Mahama’s policy actions, claiming that the problems facing the nation have only deepened under his leadership.

“Since Mahama took office, what has really changed? What are the tangible results? The problems Ghanaians are facing have only intensified,” Ahiagbah said, emphasizing the lack of immediate impact from the President’s actions.

He accused the Mahama administration of failing to deliver on crucial promises, especially those related to job creation and reducing the cost of living. “The cost of living has gone up, and unemployment is at an all-time high, despite campaign promises to address these issues,” he remarked.

Ahiagbah also dismissed the much-publicized 24-hour economy initiative as a “scam,” noting that there has been no visible progress toward its implementation. “This is just empty talk,” he stated, doubting that the promised 24-hour economy will materialize in Mahama’s term.

He went on to claim that power outages, or “dumsor,” have returned, and criticized the judiciary for being under pressure. According to Ahiagbah, Mahama’s first 120 days have had a negative impact on the country’s economy and governance, asserting that there have been no tangible results, and the nation is worse off than before.
