  • The EC worked with Buck Press and Acts Commercials to reprint error-free ballots
  • The incident highlights the EC's commitment to a transparent and credible electoral process

The Electoral Commission (EC) has destroyed faulty ballot papers intended for the Ahafo and Volta Regions after discovering serialization errors.

The destruction occurred on Thursday, November 21, under the close watch of police officers and political party representatives.

Once the defect was identified, the transfer of the flawed ballots was immediately stopped.

The EC then enlisted Buck Press and Acts Commercials to reprint new, error-free ballots to maintain the integrity of the election process.

While the EC refuted claims that political parties discovered the issue, stating that their internal quality control system flagged the error, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) insists that their representatives were the first to spot the problem, prompting corrective action.

This incident is part of the EC’s broader efforts to ensure a transparent and credible electoral process as the 2024 general elections approach.
