President John Dramani Mahama, Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, has urged newly commissioned military officers to embrace the core values of integrity, courage, and compassion as they begin their service to the nation.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony at the Ghana Military Academy on Friday, April 11, President Mahama reminded the fresh officers of the significant responsibility that comes with their new roles. He emphasized that leadership is not about rank or privilege but about duty and service to the nation.
“You are no longer cadets—you are now leaders the nation relies on,” he said. “Ghana looks to you with confidence and hope. Your actions will shape the future of our Armed Forces and the nation itself.”
He encouraged the officers to earn respect through professionalism and to inspire loyalty among those they lead, stressing the need for discipline and a deep sense of national duty.
The commissioning parade, a symbol of their successful training, drew dignitaries including top military brass, government officials, diplomats, and proud families.
The ceremony featured captivating military displays and traditions, celebrating the officers’ transition into full service.
