Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Vice President and NPP flagbearer, has acknowledged the mistakes of the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) government and humbly asked for Ghanaians’ forgiveness, vowing to lead with improved governance moving forward.

This heartfelt appeal comes amid criticisms suggesting that Bawumia was distancing himself from the shortcomings of his administration.

During the NPP’s “Thank You Tour” in Goaso, Bawumia not only expressed gratitude but also reflected openly on the administration’s challenges. With a sincere tone, he admitted, “We recognize that we have made mistakes, and we sincerely ask for your forgiveness.”

Emphasizing that the tour was more than just a celebration, he described it as a time for “sober reflection” and reassured Ghanaians that their concerns had been heard. “We are determined to chart a new path forward together,” he said.

In a break from the usual political blame game, Bawumia pledged to take full responsibility for the government’s shortcomings.

“We will not make excuses,” he vowed, promising to correct past mistakes and deliver better leadership in the future.

He concluded with a call for national unity and a renewed commitment to Ghana’s development: “Let us move forward with a renewed sense of purpose, serving with humility, dedication, and unwavering commitment to progress.”
