A 26-year-old illegal miner is on the run after allegedly killing an 18-year-old girl in Diaso, Upper Denkyira West District, Central Region.
The young woman was found lifeless, lying face down with blood stains on the floor in her room on Thursday, 9th January 2025.
Both the suspect and the victim are believed to have been involved in illegal mining activities, but there is no indication of any romantic relationship between them. Shocked locals are baffled by the motive behind the crime.
Authorities have visited the scene, and the body has been taken to the Diaso Health Centre for autopsy as the investigation continues.
