Supreme Court Puts Case on Chief Justice’s Removal on Hold Indefinitely
Case challenging the constitutionality of the president's decision to consult the Council of State first is postponed indefinitely due to Attorney General's office training.

- Hearing adjourned due to absence of Attorney General and his deputy
- Plaintiff seeks declaration that president's action bypassed Chief Justice unlawfully
- Court delays decision indefinitely
The Supreme Court has indefinitely postponed the hearing of a case challenging the removal of the Chief Justice, following a request from the Attorney General’s office.
The adjournment was triggered by the absence of the Attorney General and his deputy, who are attending a training workshop for state lawyers.
Despite objections from the plaintiff’s lawyer, the court, led by Justice Henrietta Mensah Bonsu, decided to delay proceedings.
The case centers on the constitutionality of the president’s decision to consult the Council of State before consulting the Chief Justice.
