Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Bukayo Saka is expected to be out for “more than two months” after undergoing surgery on his injured hamstring.
The 23-year-old winger sustained the injury during Arsenal’s 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace on December 21st.
Saka has been a key player for Arsenal this season, contributing nine goals and 13 assists in all competitions.
While Saka’s absence is a significant blow, Arsenal received some positive news regarding Raheem Sterling. The Chelsea loanee, who was initially expected to be out for several weeks with a knee injury, is now expected to return to action sooner than anticipated.
Arsenal, currently six points behind league leaders Liverpool, will face Brentford in their next fixture on New Year’s Day.
