The Ohemaa Kwartemaa Foundation has announced plans to provide full scholarships to outstanding female students in Aboaso.

The beneficiary schools for this initiative include Asante Gyapong R/C JHS ‘A’ and ‘B’, as well as Aboaso M/A JHS.

During a separate program, Ohemaa Kwartemaa shared her inspiring life story. She was born in Abotreye, a village near Assin Kushea in the Assin North District of the Central Region.

Every day, she walked 10 miles to school from Abotreye to Atweneboanna. At the age of 17, she became the first female in her area to pass the Common Entrance Examination.

Through sheer determination and hard work, she earned her master’s degree and built a successful career as an Auditor at Obuasi Ashanti Goldfields, later serving as a Branch Manager for NIB, and is now based in the USA.

Ohemaa Kwartemaa pledged to provide full scholarships to brilliant girls in Aboaso, emphasizing the importance of hard work and dedication to their studies.

She also advised the students to respect their teachers, parents, and the elderly, encouraging them to be law-abiding citizens.

Furthermore, she committed to supplying sanitary pads to the girls every quarter of the year to support their education and well-being.

Mrs. Joyce Ampeh, the Circuit Supervisor for Aboaso, expressed her joy and appreciation for the support. She also requested the establishment of a computer lab to aid the students’ learning.

Mr. Eric Kyei Marfo, the Headmaster of Aboaso M/A JHS, conveyed his heartfelt thanks to the foundation and suggested extending the scholarship program to brilliant boys as well.

Mr. Justice Ackom Kwame, the Chairman of the Aboaso Concert Union, who represented the community leaders (Nananom), also expressed gratitude on behalf of the community.
