Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong, a 70-year-old farmer from the Sekyere Central District in the Ashanti Region, has been named the 2024 National Best Farmer.
With 50 years of experience, Nana Owusu owns North American Farms, employing 168 workers to cultivate a variety of crops, including cocoa and cashew.
He was awarded one million Ghana cedis as part of his prize.
In his acceptance speech at the Farmers Day celebration on November 8, Nana Owusu called for greater efforts toward enhancing food security.
The celebration, held nationwide, honored farmers for their significant contributions to the economy. The event was graced by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and other dignitaries.
