  • Describes Bawumia as morally unfit and lacking the courage to lead

Fifi Kwetey, General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has launched a blistering attack on Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, accusing the former Vice President of lacking both moral strength and leadership integrity.

In a candid interview, Kwetey labeled Bawumia as “the epitome of deception,” claiming he was more focused on political spin than on being truthful with Ghanaians.

He criticized Bawumia’s performance as head of the Economic Management Team under the New Patriotic Party (NPP), asserting that he evaded responsibility for Ghana’s economic downturn.

“This is someone who consistently dodged accountability. As head of the Economic Management Team, he was not a figurehead — he was actively in charge. But when the economy started to crumble, he distanced himself, pretending it had nothing to do with him,” Kwetey argued.

He further described Bawumia’s behavior as cowardly, suggesting that such actions disqualify him from seeking higher office.

“If you can’t take responsibility or own up to your role in national failures, you’re not fit to lead. Leadership demands courage and moral backbone — qualities Bawumia clearly lacks,” Kwetey concluded.
