President John Dramani Mahama has issued an immediate halt to all activities related to the sale, lease, or processing of state and public lands.

This directive, announced by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, on January 10, 2025, is intended to protect these lands for the long-term benefit of the public and future generations.

All current and pending transactions are to be paused for a thorough review of the existing management framework. The Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission is required to submit a comprehensive report on all recent and ongoing land dealings within 14 days.
