President John Dramani Mahama has vowed to tackle youth unemployment by forging strong partnerships with the private sector to create decent, well-paying jobs for Ghana’s young population.
In his inaugural address on January 7 at the Black Star Square, Mahama emphasized that his administration would focus on inclusivity, accountability, and innovation to improve the lives of Ghanaians, with particular attention to empowering the nation’s youth.
Speaking to an audience of dignitaries, government officials, and an excited crowd, Mahama laid out his vision for a Ghana where young people are offered ample opportunities to succeed. Recognizing the pivotal role the youth played in his electoral victory, he promised that their hopes and concerns would be at the heart of his policies.
Mahama called the outcome of the December 2024 general election a powerful affirmation of the youth’s call for change and a brighter future.
He reiterated, “This victory represents the powerful voice of the youth, affirming that your future is our priority. Our policies will encourage innovation and build an industry that supports today’s young minds. Through collaboration with the private sector and business leaders, we will create well-paying jobs that reflect your aspirations.”
