In a decisive move to refine Ghana’s education system, former President John Dramani Mahama has appointed an eight-member committee to plan the much-anticipated National Education Forum.

This initiative aligns with his 2024 campaign pledge to engage stakeholders in enhancing the Free SHS policy and other educational reforms.

The committee, led by former UCC Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor George K. T. Oduro, includes esteemed academics and education experts such as Professors Goski Alabi, Rosemary Bosu, Smile Dzisi, Dr. Samuel Awuku, Kofi Asare, Stephen Owusu, and Inusah Shiraz.

With a two-week timeline, the committee is tasked with developing a guiding theme, identifying key stakeholders, proposing an agenda, and setting logistical arrangements.

Their mandate also includes drafting a national education policy framework and an action plan within three weeks after the forum.

This initiative is expected to provide a structured roadmap for educational transformation in Ghana.
