Effutu Member of Parliament and Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has reaffirmed his dedication to safeguarding judicial independence as a cornerstone of Ghana’s democracy.
He made this pledge during the commissioning of a modern court complex in the Effutu municipality, which includes both a High Court and a Circuit Court. The facility aims to meet the growing need for accessible and efficient justice in the face of the area’s rising population.
Afenyo-Markin, who was instrumental in bringing the project to life, emphasized that the new judicial facility would reduce the strain on existing courts and enhance access to legal services for local residents.
Describing the development as a pivotal move toward strengthening the rule of law, he stated, “This court complex is more than just infrastructure—it’s a statement of our commitment to upholding justice and democracy. A strong, independent judiciary is essential to preserving order and protecting the freedoms enshrined in our constitution.”
