A bus traveling from Garu to Kumasi in the Upper East and Ashanti Regions was ambushed by gunmen in Pusi-Namoo, Bolgatanga, late Saturday night, resulting in numerous injuries.

The bus was reported to be travelling from Garu in the Upper East Region to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region when the gunmen ambushed it and opened fire on the travellers.

Around 8:00 PM, the assailants opened fire on passengers, leaving several victims with serious gunshot wounds. They were quickly rushed to the Upper East Regional Hospital in Bolgatanga for treatment.

While the motive remains unclear, the attack is believed to be tied to the ongoing Bawku Conflict.
