Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has firmly rejected any possibility of accepting a position in the upcoming government under John Dramani Mahama.
As the founder and CEO of the Atta Mills Institute, Anyidoho expressed that he does not need an official appointment to thrive, as he is committed to preserving the legacy of late President John Evans Atta Mills.
“I don’t want any appointment in John Mahama’s government. God will take care of me as I continue to honor President Atta-Mills’ legacy,” Anyidoho declared in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on December 27, 2024.
His statement comes after years of tension with NDC leadership, following his loss to current National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah for the role of General Secretary in 2018. Despite criticisms that some interpret as bitterness, Anyidoho insists his views are in the best interest of the party.
He further addressed NDC supporters who have criticized him after the party’s victory in the 2024 elections, reiterating that he does not rely on a government position to succeed.
“For the record, I never served on any Board under Presidents Mills or Mahama, so don’t expect me to do so now,” he added, stating that God will continue to “upgrade” him.
