Ghana to Celebrate 40th National Farmers’ Day on November 8

The Ministry of Food and Agriculture is gearing up for the 40th National Farmers’ Day, which will be celebrated on Friday, November 8, 2024, in the Greater Accra Region.

This year’s theme, “Building Climate-Resilient Agriculture for Sustainable Food Security,” highlights Ghana’s dedication to implementing agricultural practices that combat climate change.

In the lead-up to the main event, the nation will host a five-day National Agricultural Fair, Agrifest Ghana 2024, from November 4 to 8.

On Lawson TV/Radio ‘Ghana Se Sen’ Morning Show, Public Relations Officer Mr. Tanko Bagbara shared that the fair will feature an exhibition on November 4, where farmers will showcase their products.

Mr. Bagbara explained that the fair aims to celebrate Ghana’s rich agricultural heritage and provide a platform for farmers, stakeholders, and innovators to share knowledge and best practices.

The festivities will culminate in the National Awards Night on November 8, where President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will honor exceptional farmers across 16 categories, including Overall National Best Farmer and National Best Female Farmer.

These awards recognize the significant contributions of Ghanaian farmers to the nation’s food security and economic development.

Mr. Bagbara underscored the urgent need for climate-resilient practices to ensure a sustainable agricultural future.
