Election 2024: Mahama Claims Voting for NPP Equates to Endorsing Impunity
- Mahama has urged Ghanaians to vote against the NPP
- Mahama accused the NPP government of misusing state resources
- He attributed these issues to corruption and poor governance
John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged Ghanaians to cast their votes overwhelmingly against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming December 7 general election.
During his three-day campaign tour of the Upper West Region, which included rallies in Nadowli and Wichaw, Mahama accused the NPP government of misusing state resources and leading the country into a severe economic crisis.
He attributed these issues to corruption and poor governance under the current administration.
Mahama stressed that voting to retain the NPP in power would be an endorsement of impunity and would exacerbate the economic hardships faced by citizens.
He called on voters to reject the challenges plaguing the country by supporting the NDC in the elections. “Voting for the NPP means endorsing impunity and the suffering they have inflicted on the people. It signals that you see nothing wrong with their mismanagement of the economy,” he said.
“The strongest message Ghanaians can send, not just to the NPP but to the world, is that they have caused enough damage. It’s time for them to step back, reflect, and go into opposition,” Mahama concluded.
