Former Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has opened up about the rumors of a falling out with Andre Ayew, explaining that the tension was instigated by people with personal agendas.

Gyan emphasized that despite their past appearances together in major international tournaments, such as the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups, their relationship has been affected by external influences.

During an Instagram Live session, Gyan revealed that Ayew genuinely cares for him but has been manipulated by those around him for their own benefit.

“Andre is a good person. He has that genuine love for me but he has been brainwashed because it benefits people,” Gyan stated, dismissing the claims of a rivalry. “I am not a rival to anyone,” he added.

The rumors gained traction when Ayew replaced Gyan as captain of the Black Stars ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
