Former Sunyani West MP, Hon. Kwadwo Adjei-Darko, has criticized certain parliamentarians for their immature behavior amid the ongoing deadlock in Parliament.

He likened their actions to those of schoolboys, describing the situation as damaging to the country.

Speaking on Lawson TV/Radio Ghana Se Sen morning show, Adjei-Darko called for Ghanaians to set aside political differences and speak out against what he believes is an unacceptable situation in Parliament.

He expressed disappointment with Speaker Alban Bagbin, blaming him for the impasse.

Drawing a comparison to the tenure of former Speaker Edward Doe Adjaho, Adjei-Darko noted that Doe Adjaho was fair and impartial during his time, unlike Bagbin, who he claims acts as if Parliament belongs to him, disregarding the proper procedures.

The former MP further stated that Bagbin’s actions suggest he is under manipulation.

He criticized the rearranging of seating positions for NDC MPs, which he believes is politically motivated.

Adjei-Darko warned that the current deadlock could have severe consequences for the country, particularly affecting government budgets and civil service salaries.

He urged Ghanaians to stay vigilant and recognize the gravity of the ongoing crisis, stressing that if Parliament fails to approve the budget before December 31, it could lead to a complete halt in government operations, with civil servants left unpaid.
