MTN Ghana’s staff came together to make a powerful statement for breast cancer awareness during the “Y’ello Goes Pink Day” event in October 2024.
The event, held across MTN House and regional offices, was designed to raise awareness and empower employees with vital health knowledge.
The day kicked off with generous token donations from two internal groups—the Scancom Cooperative Credit Union and Women in Technology (WIT) Cohort 3 Ladies—to the Acting Chief Human Resource Officer, Mr. Abdallah Ibrahim, in support of women battling cancer. These contributions encouraged staff to also voluntarily donate to the cause.
The event featured an array of activities, starting with a Wellness Wave Fair that offered health screenings such as Body Mass Index (BMI), blood pressure checks, and breast screening.
There was also a special Bra Sales and Management session led by Dansowaa Omega Amponsah, CEO of Pretty Little Things, who shared expert tips on proper bra usage and maintenance.
Dietician Nana Kofi Owusu educated attendees on cancer-fighting nutrition, while renowned medical professional Dr. Dennis Bortey gave a crucial talk on breast cancer, including self-examination techniques and early detection methods.
The day also included an energetic fitness session with Jay Fitness, where participants enjoyed aerobic exercises and exciting giveaways.
The successful day not only raised awareness but also equipped MTN employees with practical knowledge to live healthier, more proactive lives in the fight against breast cancer.
