Police Foil Q-NET Scam in Ashanti; 44 Foreign Nationals in Custody

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested 29-year-old Bella Merie and 43 other Cameroonian nationals for allegedly engaging in internet fraud and human trafficking. The arrests took place on Monday, April 7, 2025, at a residence in Kenyasi Abrem.
According to a police statement signed by DSP Godwin Ahianyo, preliminary investigations revealed that Bella Merie defrauded victims of approximately 4.5 million CFA Francs under the false promise of job opportunities in Ghana. The victims — 32 males and 11 females — were reportedly lured into the country through a notorious scam scheme known as Q-NET.
All individuals involved, aged between 22 and 38, have been handed over to the Ghana Immigration Service for further processing and repatriation.
The Ghana Police Service reaffirmed its dedication to cracking down on fraud and ensuring the safety and well-being of both Ghanaians and foreigners within the country.
