Story Highlights
  • Nana B endorses the Oquaye Committee’s report as detailed and credible
  • Committee engaged stakeholders across all 276 constituencies
  • Report expected to guide major reforms after NPP’s 2024 election loss

The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye—widely known as Nana B—has strongly endorsed the credibility and thoroughness of the report produced by the Oquaye Committee, which reviewed the party’s performance in the 2024 general elections.

In an interview on April 16, Nana B commended the committee for its diligent and methodical approach, highlighting its extensive stakeholder engagement and data collection across the country.

“I’m fully confident in the report because of how detailed their work was. They visited all 276 constituencies and spoke directly with those who played key roles during the elections,” he stated. “The methodology they used and the broad consultations they held make it clear that this was no superficial exercise.”

Led by former Speaker of Parliament Professor Mike Oquaye, the committee was tasked with investigating the reasons behind the NPP’s loss in the 2024 elections—including the presidential defeat and a significant reduction in parliamentary seats—and to propose a roadmap for rebuilding the party’s strength.

Although the full report is yet to be made public, party insiders believe it contains critical insights that will help shape reforms and strategy moving forward.

Nana B’s endorsement of the report reflects growing confidence within the NPP that the findings will lead to meaningful transformation and renewed energy as the party prepares for future electoral contests.
