Minority Calls on Speaker Over NIB’s Attempted Arrest of Ntim Fordjour
MPs raise alarm over alleged protocol breach by intelligence officers.

- NIB allegedly attempted to arrest Assin South MP without consulting Parliament
- Minority says the move violates constitutional and parliamentary procedures
- Speaker Bagbin urged to protect MPs' rights and uphold legislative protocol.
The Minority in Parliament is urging Speaker Alban Bagbin to swiftly intervene following an alleged attempted arrest of Assin South MP, Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).
According to the Minority, the arrest attempt—linked to an ongoing probe into alleged drug trafficking and money laundering involving two international flights that passed through Ghana in March 2025—violated constitutional guidelines and parliamentary protocols.
In a strongly-worded memo, Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh Dompreh criticized the NIB’s actions, stressing that engagements involving MPs must strictly adhere to due legislative procedures and respect the privileges of Parliament.
