Government to Reduce Ordinary Passport Fees – Minister Confirms Key Reforms

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has revealed that the government is reviewing the cost of an ordinary Ghanaian passport, aiming to make it more affordable for all citizens.

Instead of increasing the price for standard passports, the focus will be on adjusting fees for individuals requiring special passport services.

Mr. Ablakwa made this announcement during an industrial tour of agencies under his ministry, including the Passport Office at Ridge and the Tema Station branch in Accra.

As part of ongoing reforms, he disclosed plans to expand the Passport Head Office at Ridge, introducing more offices to improve service delivery.

Additionally, new passport centers will be established across all sixteen (16) regions to ensure more efficient and accessible services for Ghanaians.
