The Ghana Police Service has arrested Kelvin Aboagye, the General Manager of Elmina Sharks, in connection with an attack on a referee following a Division One football match between Elmina Sharks and Swedru All Blacks.
The incident occurred on February 16, 2025, at the Nduom Sports Stadium in Elmina, Central Region, after the match had ended.
According to the police, Aboagye, along with several others, physically assaulted the referee and some supporters.
The General Manager is currently in police custody and assisting with the ongoing investigation.
Authorities are also working to identify and apprehend the other individuals involved in the attack.
