Former Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Cynthia Morrison, has boldly declared that she would not leave her husband, even if she were to catch him with another woman.
She shared that the strength of their relationship keeps her resolute in this decision. For her, it’s more important to nurture and strengthen a marriage than to rush into a new one, which might come with its own set of uncertainties.
Morrison made these remarks during an interview, where she also recounted how her former aide, Chris Arthur, had misled their constituents by claiming that her husband had encouraged him to challenge her in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries.
“Even if you tell me you saw my husband with another woman, I won’t leave him,” she stated. “If I catch him, I’ll just pick him up, and we’ll go home together.”
She explained that she doesn’t know what the future holds or who the next man might be, emphasizing the importance of appreciating and working on the relationship one already has. “You have to polish what you have,” she added.
Morrison, who lost the 2024 election as an independent candidate following her defeat in the NPP parliamentary primary, secured just 152 votes, while Christopher Arthur won the nomination with 240 votes.
In the general election, Ernestina Ofori Dangbey of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) claimed victory with 26,080 votes, while Arthur received 20,693 votes.
