Founder and General Overseer of Alive Chapel International Church, Prophet Elisha Salifu Amoako, along with his wife, Mouha Amoako, and Linda Bonsu Prempeh, were rearrested shortly after the Circuit Court in Accra discharged them on February 17, 2025.

The three were taken back into police custody immediately after leaving the courtroom. It remains unclear whether new charges will be filed against them.

Earlier in the day, the Attorney General (AG), represented by State Attorney Yaw Acquah, informed the court that the charge sheet against the accused would be withdrawn to allow for further investigations.

The AG stated that the outcome of the investigation would determine the next steps in the case.

The accused were initially charged with “permitting an unlicensed person to drive” after a 16-year-old driver, who was unlicensed, caused a tragic accident that resulted in the deaths of two children in Accra.

The accused denied the charges and were granted bail in the sum of GH₵50,000 each, with two sureties.

In Monday’s court session, the State Attorney emphasized the need for further investigation and requested the withdrawal of the charges. Defence lawyers expressed no objection to the motion.

Judge Samuel Bright Acquah, presiding over the case, ruled in favor of the AG’s request, noting that with the defence’s support for the withdrawal, the case would be dismissed and the accused discharged.
