In a spirited address during the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) final rally ahead of Ghana’s December 7 general election, presidential candidate Mahamudu Bawumia vowed to start delivering results immediately if elected president.

Speaking at the “Possibilities Victory Rally” held at the University of Ghana’s Legon campus on December 5, Bawumia, currently serving as Vice President, assured supporters that he is prepared to lead from day one.

“I don’t need a honeymoon; I know what I want to do from day one in the presidency,” he declared to enthusiastic applause. “Give me the chance to transform this nation.”

Bawumia laid out a bold vision for economic transformation, emphasizing the role of the private sector in driving investment and growth.

“I have my own vision. I have my own ideas. I’m going to build on our [NPP’s] splendid record and unleash the forces of the private sector to bring in the investment to transform this country,” he stated.

As the NPP seeks to retain power in a closely contested election, Bawumia’s message of readiness and action has become a focal point of the campaign. With the polls approaching, Ghanaians now weigh his promise of immediate impact against the nation’s aspirations for progress and development.
