Three individuals tied to the Aisha Huang case face charges for engaging in illegal mining operations and breaching immigration laws. They are accused of conspiracy to mine without a license, violating Ghana’s Criminal Offences Act and the Minerals and Mining Act.
- Li Wei Guo: Allegedly obtained a work permit through false representation under the Immigration Act.
- Shi Mei Zhi and Nana Kwame Opoku (alias Obolo): Accused of falsifying information to secure residence permits.
- Third Accused: Charged with facilitating illegal mining activities involving foreigners.
The arrests followed intelligence from the Ministry of National Security, leading to their capture at Paraku Estates, Kumasi, in September 2022.
As the case continues, authorities aim to clamp down on illegal mining and related infractions.
